Set up in primary stance
Each ball represents a pitch being thrown in the dirt
Body moves toward ball that is not right at the catcher
Glove and body positioning as catcher rotates around
Works a simulated block and recovery
Glove is not tucked
Body does not drive to the ball
Head is up; throat exposed
Catcher cannot recover with his legs
Catcher shifts over and centers the ball in a good “C” (The curvature in your spine to keep the ball in front of you)
Chin is down, elbows are beside the ribs with no holes
Catcher uses leg strength to get back to feet and quickly move to next ball
You can also use the same drill by lining up the balls to either side of the catcher
